For the in class story board assignment, my group and I decided to use Andy Warhol: The Factory as our inspiration. Our biggest draw to the concept was all of the color possibilities. Our board directly reflects the vibrancy of Warhol's iconic pop art. The main message we aimed to display was the incorporation of all colors everywhere (literally from head to toe). We see the statement colors being incorporated into all types of garments, ranging anywhere from jackets to socks. Since color is such a broad category, textiles and materials are not confined. A wide range of fabrics as well as silhouettes will be applicable. We arranged the board to show the transcendence of high fashion to street trends. Since our story is so bold, we imagined an editorial shoot. We would want an edgy model who portrays the same confidence and individuality as our theme. Location would also play a vital roll in the success of our story. We envisioned the shoot to take place in an urban habitat since the fashion will be more relatable to city dwellers. However, we would want the model to be on a rather bare street, in order to avoid the chaos of a busy background clashing with the clothing being featured. Below are the top three looks chosen to be featured in the photo shoot.
Look 1
Primary colors are a huge part of our story. Each look intends to make a statement, and the boldness of these hues enable the outfits to do so. The incorporation of layers and manageable heals within this outfit make it perfect for a day out. This look displays the practicality of wearing colors on colors on colors.
Jacket: Shrimps UK

Look 2
This outfit is transitional into the night. The heals dress it up a bit and also add a sense of intrigue. However, the combination of colors keep the outfit funky, differing it from the typical dark clothes worn out by the night owls. The silver of the bag also ties back to the shoes seen in the first look, making the story cohesive.
Coat: J. Crew

Shoes: Jeffrey Campbell
Bag: 3.1 Phillip Lim

Look 3
The last look is very street inspired. It is not typical to wear sneakers with a leather pencil skirt, but it is also not typical to wear red blue and lime green all at once, so it kind of made perfect sense. The silver bag once again relates back to the previous two looks, contributing to the continuous flow of the story.
