As the summer approaches the inevitable task of altering our wardrobes becomes a reality. As some find the swapping of jeans for shorts a simple transition, there are others who find themselves a little lost (me). I love winter wardrobes and all of the intriguing layers which make up their existence. Once I am no longer able to wear my shirt under my sweater under my jacket, I can't help but feel both naked and predictable. With a smaller amount of fabric, summer clothing must look to other areas of detail to provide captivating aesthetics.
For this week's post I compiled an arrangement of groovy summer pieces one would wear to a music festival. As mentioned in previous segments, I am in love with the resurrection of the 70's in fashion. I think the trend possesses elements of edge, individuality, and femininity (a beautiful trio if I do say so myself). I also think this offers a refreshing differentiation from the familiar bohemian influence we see recurring each summer. If this storyboard were to be carried out in a photo shoot I would want a woodsy outdoor setting. I am from northern New Hampshire where low key outdoor shows are a common occurrence during the summers. I would want the festival setting to be something like this, possessing nothing commercial. I think this would create a bold contrast against the clothing being worn. I would also want the models to display the rock and roll mystery of the theme. Makeup would be kept to a minimum, because I think the garments speak for themselves.
