This weeks post was inspired by the album artwork of Angles, produced by The Strokes. In attempt to replicate the theme of the album cover, I looked for pieces which possessed both geometric designs, and bright color blocking. The architecturally constructed tops serve as the focal point of the outfit, and the jeans as a subtle compliment. At the time that The Strokes released this album, they had just taken a prolonged break from composing music together. Angles provided their fans with a sense of relief, as it became evident that the band was back together. The music also provided fans with a sense of innovation, as some of the songs ventured away from the band's typical sound, and experimented with multi-genre collaborations. With the intention of creating an experimental look, I incorporated a variety of textiles such as neoprene, fur, denim and leather, along with an array of color-ways in my clothing compilation. I hope that these style ideas will provoke a desire to seek creative individuality, just as Angles did for me.
